Garage Door Safety Sensor Repair in Damascus, OR and East Clackamas County
If your garage door will not close, or closes a few inches then reverses, the safety sensors near the floor are the most common cause. These photo eye sensors stop the door from closing on a person, pet or object. We realign, clean and replace faulty sensors across the east county, 7 days a week.

Why your door will not close
The two sensors on each side of the door near the floor must see each other clearly. If they are bumped out of alignment, dirty, blocked by a leaf or cobweb, or have a damaged wire, the opener refuses to close the door and usually flashes its lights as a warning. Bright sunlight on a sensor can also cause it.
We check alignment, clean the lenses, repair or replace damaged sensor wiring, and swap failed sensors for new ones. If the problem is actually in the opener logic board rather than the sensors, we diagnose that too.
What sensor repair costs
A realignment or cleaning is quick and inexpensive. Replacement sensors add a modest part cost. Call for current pricing, and we can often resolve it in one short visit.

Frequently asked questions
My door reverses right after it starts to close. Why?
That is almost always a safety sensor that is misaligned, dirty or blocked. Realigning and cleaning the sensors usually fixes it.
The opener lights are blinking. What does that mean?
Blinking opener lights typically signal a sensor fault. The door will not close until the sensors see each other again.
Can sunlight affect the sensors?
Yes, direct sun on a photo eye can blind it. We can adjust or shield the sensor to solve it.
